October 22, 2011 will forever be known as the day The Pumking finally ascended to the thrown as the Pumpkin Beer Tour champion. After three years of second place finishes, the liquid caramel sensation left no doubt which beer was supreme, trouncing all competitors by a stunning margin.

This year's tour had numerous other highlights.

Three tickets per attendee were divied out resulting in 13 of the record 20 brews receiving a vote.

Debut brews included Laurelwood Stingy Jack, Midnight Sun T.R.E.A.T. Chocolate Pumpkin Porter, Rogue Chatoe Pumpkin Patch Ale, Sam Adam's Harvest Pumpkin Ale, and Rock Bottom's Cerveza Calabaza as well as two last minute entries graciously provided by Stephanie Vos: Shocktop Pumpkin Wheat and Schooner Exact Gutter Punk'N.

We also had our very first pumpkin cider, Ace Pumpkin Cider from the California Cider Company, which finished an impressive third.

One exclusive home brew was also on hand: Dave Martin's Dog Balls Brewery Thanksgiving Kolsch, which tied for third.

Though last year's winning brew, Matt Horning's One Eyed Jack was not in the competition this year its namesake showed up with his last bottle of the brew providing an added treat for those that had completed the tour.

Special thanks to Cassidy Scandola for donating her table so the guests didn't have to drink off the floor like last year!

Overall, it was an awesome event. All hail The King!
