On the desolate end of South Tacoma Way, not far from Interstate-5 in Tacoma, WA lies the unique Bob's Java Jive. Built in 1927 by Bert Smyser, the 25 foot high coffee pot building has survived 8 decades as a coffee shop, drive-thru restaurant, and now a karaoke bar. It certainly could use a paint job but is nevertheless still alive and kicking. With modest hours (8pm to 2am) I didn't get a chance to go inside but I can't wait until I do.
