The
45 Day Trip
What started
as a twinkle in the eye of well-known scaredy cat, Scott Muoio,
during the winter and spring of 1997 eventually became the greatest
odyssey in the history of Bricktown, New Jersey. A cross country
trip spanning 45 days, 30 states (plus Washington DC), three accomplices,
a cast of hundreds, and thousands of miles of highs and lows,
it was the last hurrah for one of the great personas of all-time:
The King of Fun. After these 45 days, The King of Fun disappeared
forever in a sea of OMC's "How Bizarre," a seemingly
endless rain of bitter tears and heart wrenching break-ups, and
enough epic poetry to rival that of the ancient Greeks.
Here you will
discover the chronicles of The King of Fun during this last great
bastion of Americana travel before the world was turned on its
head by its final loss of innoccence: The Internet explosion,
Global Positioning System satellite technology, 9/11, cellular
phones, and The War on Terrorism.
1997 was a beautiful
time to be a young American. On these pages you will find one
man's account of the summer of '97 spent attempting to capture
his version of The American Dream.
