What it is: The Hal Clarke Effect is a series of uncomfortably comical
vignettes revolving around the rants of Hal Clarke. Comedy meets
sincerity in this odd yet familiar world.
Key players:
Hal Clarke is an unemployed homebody with a penchant for aggravated
tirades, “working” on the computer, and his green shorts
with maroon sweatshirt. Beth Fassbinder is Hal’s hard working,
live-in girlfriend who enjoys cleanliness, protocol, and romantic
comedies. Anderson is Hal’s friend and rival in all things
competitive. Peter and Lynn are a married couple who live up the
road from Hal and tempt him endlessly with invitations to swim in
their hot tub. Douglas Small is Hal’s old friend from high
school who lives on the east coast with his wife, Ethel. Employment
is Hal's archenemy, not because he hates it, but because he can't
seem to find a job that will have him.

song, "The Hal Clarke Effect."

The
Hal Clarke Effect will be broadcast periodically
on this website sometime in the future. With a season and a half
worth of scripts already complete, we plan to film numerous episodes
sometime down the road. Stay tuned... and in the meantime, prepare
to be stupefied!
