Japanese teriyaki always seems a
little bland. Broadview’s Teriyaki Time is a perfect
example.
The chicken in the #1 teriyaki is
a little rubbery, not grilled quite enough, and I have
the feeling it has been sitting around a while. The house
teriyaki sauce is adequate though a bit thin and more
salty than sweet. The white rice is good – fluffy
and hearty. The accompanying iceberg salad, packaged in
its own small Chinese food carton, features watery thousand
island dressing and is fair at best.
The #1’s $6.50 plus tax price
tag is justified - the portions will fill you up.
Overall, though Teriyaki Time’s
#1 feels like just another Seattle chicken teriyaki. Nothing
stands out, you won’t remember a thing, but happily
you’ll be stuffed when all is said and done.
With a diverse menu that features
everything from a dozen or more sushi rolls to many of
your Chinese and Korean favorites Teriyaki Time probably
won’t do you wrong though you could do better.
