All Hail The King!

Teriyaki King takes its teriyaki seriously. From the perfectly grilled chicken to the fluffy bed of rice on which it lies, the generous coating of scrumptious sauce to the very tasty sweet cucumber salad, "The King" is what teriyaki should taste like.

Ready mere moments after you place your order one is hard pressed to find a more speedy, better tasting teriyaki meal than the one I received from this pleasant Wallingford shop. The cost of The #2 (The #1 is the smaller "teriyaki bowl"), $6.29 plus tax, isn't the most inexpensive teriyaki you'll find, but the high end taste makes it worth every penny. Tasty chicken, soft white rice perfectly proportioned, and a unique cucumber salad that beats the pants off the iceberg salads which normally accompany teriykaki, if there was such a thing as "high class teriyaki," this would be it.

The only downside of The King's teriyaki is their slightly lacking portions. While some places pack as much rice and chicken as possible into the styrofoam rectangle and then give you a separate container for your salad, The King puts their amazing cucumber salad in the main styrofoam taking up critical chicken and rice room. The all-in-one method allows for easier transport, a good thing for teriyaki to-go, and the wonderful flavor of all involved will certainly leave you wanting more, it's just that I wanted a little more right now! A small gripe, for sure, and hardly enough to dampen an otherwise perfect teriyaki meal.

All hail The King!
