The Story of Moose

While waiting patiently for signs of life at the Moose Visitor Center in Moose, WY, I doodled a cartoon that captured exactly the goings-on of the moment. With cellular service non-existent, the sun falling behind the mountains, and the madness of Yellowstone finally behind us, total confusion was the order of the moment on Day 08.

One Day From Seattle

With a mere 150 miles standing between us and Seattle, tension was mounting as we began to realize our move cross country was more than merely a pleasure cruise. Oh no, this was the real deal, and in a few short hours we would be anchoring ashore of our new home. With tthat knowledge finally taking hold, Alexis and I found ourselves not only coming to grips with that monstrous reality but with another, more pressing matter: we had nowhere to stay once we arrived. With Host #1 Joey Johnson unable to answer our calls due to his camping concerns, we moderately panicked in our Yakima campsite. The following cartoon is my depiction of this sad reality.

The Goring of Yellowstone

Not a creation of my own mind or hand, the following flyer issued to all entrants of Yellowstone Park is nothing short of comedy genius. While certainly true, many tourist are gored by bison every year, the depiction on the flyer of exactly what these incidents look like is simply phenomenal and laugh-out-loud hilarious. Now this is what I call my tax dollars hard at work. Money well spent, indeed!
