What had been talked about since he tucked tail and returned to the east coast from the west on Halloween Day 2001 finally became a reality on a humid summer afternoon in Somerville, MA, July 27, 2007. Five and a half years after that fateful day of return cowardice, Scott Muoio began his journey back west, again jobless, homeless, and quite unsure what pacific northwest re-establishment might hold this time out. He was scared, anxious, and of course doubting everything including his own abilities and desire. But with a light shining that was not present in 2001 and an eternal hope the mast of his tiny wayward ship, it was at last time for Muoio to leave Boston, the port he had made his home for so many years, once more.

The shining light that makes it all possible this time is Muoio's partner and fellow traveler Alexis Rush, a steadying presence to Muoio's dreamer and an equal in this epic journey. Already securing Seattle employ and a new Mazda 3 hatchback to replace the infamous 1981 Mercury Zephyr, Alexis is the muscle beside Muoio's imagination and an integral part in finally bringing to fruition Muoio's dream of both revisiting America by auto as well reaching for settlement on the west coast.

It is a gallant risk, this cross country re-establishment, combining the two most amazing adventures of Muoio's life, the cross country and back 45 Day Trip of 1997 and the spur-of-the-moment move and 9 month residency in Seattle during 2001, into one last gasp effort at permanently establishing himself in the west. But curiously, it is also the inevitable conclusion to a battle that has raged in Muoio's mind for decades and will now at last be settled once and for all, for better or worse, right before your eyes.

But for now it is July 27, 2007, and with Seattle, WA looming in the distance some 3,781 miles away, 12 days the time frame with which to complete their travels, and Alexis and Muoio cutting the anchor on their east coast life and looking with daring toward pacific re-establishment, the table is set for the duo to realize the greatest journey of their lives. And for you, the curious, the dreamers, the critical, and the passionate, to discover their story...
