"Prime Time "

Though its name, French Dip may seem fancy and regal, the French Dip, itself is truly a sandwich of the people. Utilitarian in design and price, the French Dip revolves around amply portioned roast beef trimmings gently placed inside a soft roll and accompanied by a steaming hot cup of au jus broth. A hearty sandwich, the French Dip is both classic and modern, a meal fit for a construction worker, a banker, or a Queen.

Green Lake Bar and Grill’s version of the French Dip, the Prime Dip takes the notion of this everyman sandwich and elevates it to elite status. For $14.99 plus tax, Green Lake’s Prime Dip is pricey but satisfying. Made with thinly sliced prime beef, melted provolone, and horseradish, the Prime Dip’s main ingredients are a notch above your standard French Dip. Unfortunately, however all three ingredients lack the pizzazz to match the Dip’s bold name and hefty price tag. The MSG free au just likewise gets the job done but never soars to heights one might expect.

The Dip’s Ciabatta roll, on the other hand is the Prime Dip’s true revelation. The roll is soft, tasty, and melt in your mouth divine. Throw in a generous side of tasty and bottomless regular or sweet potato fries and you’ve got a Prime Dip that excels beyond one’s average French Dip expectations yet doesn’t quite reach Green Lake’s lofty proclamations.

Meat = 0.75

Au Jus = 0.5
