Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is a great
boxer. Yet time and again people seem to forget, caught
up in the hype of boxing's flavor of the month. If last
night's thrashing by Mayweather of Juan Manuel Marquez
doesn't wake up the forgetful then I suppose nothing will.
Too fast, too big, too good defensively,
and in total control throughout Floyd Mayweather put on
a boxing clinic in his 144lb bout with Juan Manuel Marquez.
With a precision jab, hard, accurate left hooks, and an
unmatched cunning that never allows his opponent an offensive
opening Floyd's performance was a thing of beauty. Mayweather's
only negative: he came in two pounds overweight.
Simply put, Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
is the best boxer in the world. Manny Pacquiao, Miguel
Cotto, Antonio Margarito, or Shane Mosley, Floyd beats
them all.
Mayweather moves
to 40-0 (25 KO)
Marquez moves to
50-5-1 (37 KO)
Marquez down once
in round 2.

Quote of the Night:
"You talk too much."
- Floyd Mayweather, Jr. in his post-fight response to
Commentator Max Kellerman's repeated question about Floyd
going over the bout's contracted weight limit and now
having to face a legitimate 147 lber.
