With a punishing body attack and
indominitable will, Paul "The Punisher" Williams
turned Verno Phillips old overnight. The lanky, 6 foot
1 inch "Punisher" threw a smorgasbord of punches
from numerous angles inevitably breaking down the cunning
veteran. By the time the bell was rung for the ninth round
, Verno remained on his stool giving Williams the TKO
victory.
It was an excellent performance by
Williams who overcame a nasty first round cut from an
unintentional headbutt. Keeping his cool, sticking to
his aggressive punches in bunches game plan, and peppering
Phillips' midsection throughout, Williams showed that
he will be a handful for any fighter from 147lbs to 160lbs.
