Wallace Falls
Goldbar, WA

July 26, 2008

The 1,200 foot ascent up Wallace Falls has numerous stunning views.

Map it!

Mountains behind hissing Power Lines
Muoio on the Wallace River

The well-traveled Wallace Falls is merely a hop, skip, and a jump from Seattle. But oh, what a site!

Located one hour from The Emerald City in Goldbar, WA, Wallace Falls can be seen from U.S. Route 2 but must be viewed up close for the full experience. A well worn path leads visitors from the trailhead to sites along the Wallace River. Hissing power lines eerily greet hikers over the initial walk before the trail bends and the ascent begins. Scenic viewpoints can be enjoyed at the lower, middle, and upper falls culminating in a beautiful 5 mile round trip juant. The terrain is flat and well cared for and only gets challenging on the final segment between the middle and upper falls. The full hike reaches a crescendo at 1,500 feet.

Gotta love The Wallace Falls!
